That's a good point - the best photographers succeed because they engage with the subject - I think that's the real challenge - nothing to do with cameras and the like...

Tried it out when choosing my new holiday camera, (Got the Lumix GF1 instead) the only good thing about it was the price. Menu lacked imagination and was wired to view. It only has a 3m waterproof depth, which is poor compared to the other that are in the same class that have 10m waterproof depth.
However if you buy it because of the price and the colour range, i'm sure you will get used to the menu system, but you just can't do any 10m scuba diving with it so you will have to stick to shallow snookering instead with the small fishes ;-)
(The reason why I got the GF1 instead was because I would use my camera more on dry land than in the water over a period of time. It would be a better investment, as I can always rent an underwater camera diving 10m or buy a disposable one for 3m.)

Viva La France!

There must some French people who like the English out there so please comment. The English and French are not so different, coming from similar stock and having intermingled for years must share some common ground.

The similarities are so great that may be the rivalry comes from the subtle differences. Sure the food is great in France but we have excellent produce over here. The cheeses are equal in quality, the landscapes are equally diverse and beautiful and we both ignited photography.

Nicéphore Niépce invented the process with Louis Daguerre carrying on his work and creating the positive Daguerrotype. But Henry Fox Talbot developed the negative which has allowed us to reproduce our images. You could say that without the Americans photography would not as popular due to George Eastman's celluloid film.

It would be nice to have comments celebrating the good things about France and Angleterre.

i don't konw why the English love the french. But I know why the french hate the english so much.
Having lived there 17 years, i heard lot's of different arguments, here's a few that i can think of:

1] The English will not addmit that the french have the best cuisine in the world.

2] The English settle in france in our villas near the sea and make the price of the properties rise...

3] Half of English word's are French word's!

4] The french find the english very tense, and worry to much, and the french are the opposite they are very relaxed!
